These plastic tanks are also called IBC tanks or IBC Tote, which means “Intermediate Bulk Container”.
They are therefore ideal containers for holding bulk liquid goods. These tanks come with the cage and are equipped with a 2" male camlock ball valve and a 6" vented screw-on lid. These tanks are very popular, as they are the most economical of all models.
The 1000-litre plastic tanks are mainly used for transporting or storing liquids.
They attach rapidly in the box of a truck and are easily handled when empty. For storage, it is possible to stack up to 3 units high, but it is recommended to stack only 2 units high when it is necessary to move them with a forklift or a pallet truck.
IBC tank must be used with its cage, because the walls are not strong enough to hold the weight of the liquid.
The walls will swell under the pressure of the liquid. We only sell the complete unit, therefore the tank in its cage, with the valve and the lid. We sell adapters and hoses to connect to the valve.
The resin used to manufacture the tank meets FDA standards for potable water.
These plastic tanks are made of UV-treated HDPE, which prevents the plastic from cracking in the sun. It is therefore possible to use them both indoors and outdoors. The walls are translucent with a molded scale in liters and US gallons. These tanks comply with DOT 31Ha1/Y/10 standards for the transport of hazardous materials.
Totes tanks have multiple uses: transporting bulk liquids, collecting rainwater, storing or transporting drinking water, chemicals, pesticides and other liquids, and because these tanks are very easily transportable, they are often used as water tanks on building sites.
