Rectangular plastic tanks for liquid storage and transport

A rectangular closed-top tank provides liquid storage in spaces where height, width or equipment layout limits your options. At Agrico, we offer several configurations: flat-bottom, rounded-bottom, low-profile and narrow upright tanks.

These tanks are used to store or transport potable water, maple sap and liquids used in agriculture or industry. For soap, fertilizer or another chemical, the application must be assessed before selecting the tank and its fittings.

Capacity alone is not enough. We also consider the available space, lid access, outlet location and how the tank will be secured if you plan to transport it.

Four series for different requirements

The FB, PCO, LP and UP series meet different needs. The table outlines the included drains, steel band availability and key points to consider.

FB series: flat bottom and available steel bands

FB tanks have a flat bottom and a horizontal configuration. They are used for liquid storage and transport, as well as maple sap collection.

This series stands out for its steel bands, available depending on the model. They fit into the molded grooves and follow the tank walls, leaving more space around the tank. Their selection depends on the installation and intended use.

PCO series: rounded bottom and an outlet to plan

PCO tanks have a rounded bottom and molded legs that make them freestanding. They are used in agriculture, irrigation and equipment for preparing or transferring liquids.

The flat areas at the ends allow certain configurations with agitation equipment to be considered. However, the mounting arrangement and chemical compatibility must be assessed. No drain is included: the outlet must be planned according to your needs.

LP series: designed for limited height

LP low-profile tanks are worth considering when available height is limited, particularly in a truck bed or on a platform.

Equipment varies by capacity. The 52 to 200 US gallon sizes have a non-vented hinged lid, so ventilation must be provided. The 300 US gallon size comes without a drain, while sizes of 1,275 US gallons and above have a larger-diameter drain.

UP series: narrow upright configuration

UP tanks combine an upright configuration with a flat bottom. Their narrow shape can make installation easier in confined spaces or leave room for a pump and other equipment.

We check passage clearances, lid access and whether level measurement is needed. The translucent walls allow the liquid to be seen, but this series does not have molded graduations.

Choose according to space and intended use

For maple sap collection, irrigation or a mobile water supply, the needs of the agricultural sector vary according to the vehicle, terrain and volume to be moved.

A mistake to avoid: choosing a tank based only on its dimensions, then discovering there is no room for the steel bands, valve or hose. You also need enough space to open the lid and access the fittings.

Plan the fittings before ordering

A closed-top tank does not necessarily come with all the equipment required. We can prepare inlets, outlets or other connections according to the model and your needs.

Bulkhead fittings provide a suitable connection through the tank wall. Ball valves control flow, while Camlock fittings make removable connections easier.

We also check tank vents and, for drinking water transfer, potable water hoses. Materials, gaskets and diameters must be suitable for the application.

Frequently asked questions

Can these tanks be used for potable water?

We offer tanks made with material that meets FDA requirements for potable water. This compliance must be confirmed for the selected model and does not replace checking the accessories.

Can a closed-top tank be pressurized?

No. These tanks are intended for above-ground, non-pressurized use. A closed top does not mean the tank is designed to operate under pressure.

Is specific gravity enough to select a chemical tank?

No. We must also check the liquid’s compatibility with the tank and gaskets, its concentration and its temperature.
