Our industrial plastic pallets are designed for material handling, closed-loop transportation and storage of goods on the floor or in pallet racking. They are particularly suitable for warehouses, distribution centres, commercial operations and industrial facilities looking for a durable, washable and moisture-resistant pallet.
The available models measure 40" x 48" or 48" x 48". They differ primarily in their base design, load capacity, compatibility with pallet jacks, nestability and ability to be used in a racking system.
The black pallets in this category are made from recycled plastic and are intended for industrial applications. Depending on the model, a pallet may be selected to reduce the space required for empty returns, support heavy loads or be used repeatedly in pallet racking.
The choice should therefore not be based solely on dimensions or floor load capacity. The actual weight of the load, its distribution, the forklift or pallet jack being used, the rack configuration and the way the pallets move through your operations must also be considered.
Prices, minimum quantities, inventory and lead times are displayed in real time on the product pages. Sales, pickup and shipping are available within Canada.
| Model | Dimensions | Base type | Nestable | Pallet jack access | Load on forks | Floor load | Rack use |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| RX4048-BK | 40" x 48" x 6" | Perimeter runners with centre leg | No | 4-way | 5,000 lb | 20,000 lb | 600 lb in rack |
| Nitro400 | 40" x 48" x 5.4" | Three runners | Yes | 2-way | 3,000 lb | 6,000 lb | Not rackable. Up to 2,000 lb with three safety bars under the runners. |
| RXHD4048-BK | 40" x 48" x 6" | Perimeter base reinforced with three rods | No | 2-way | 4,500 lb | 30,000 lb | 3,000 lb in rack |
| HX4848-BK | 48" x 48" x 6" | Perimeter base with centre cross and five reinforcement rods | No | 4-way | 5,000 lb | 20,000 lb | 3,000 lb in rack |
The capacities shown are based on an evenly distributed load. They may vary depending on the pallet rack, beam spacing, presence of safety bars, temperature, storage duration and actual load distribution. Consult the product page and the rack manufacturer's requirements before use.
A perimeter-base pallet has runners connecting the legs around the perimeter of its base. This construction improves stability and facilitates its use in several material handling and storage systems.
Depending on the model, it may be accessible with a pallet jack from two or four sides. This characteristic should be verified before purchasing, particularly when pallets are moved primarily with a manual pallet jack.
A three-runner base is more similar to the base of a wooden pallet and provides a good contact surface for certain types of material handling equipment.
The Nitro400 also features a nestable design. Its runners can fit into the pallet below, reducing the space required for empty storage and transportation. This feature can be particularly useful in a closed-loop system where empty pallets must regularly be returned.
A pallet intended to be used directly in racking must have a load capacity specifically established for that configuration. The RX4048-BK, RXHD4048-BK and HX4848-BK models can be supported by two beams within the limits and conditions specified for each model.
The Nitro400 is not a rackable pallet. It can, however, be placed in pallet racking when installed lengthwise across two parallel beams and supported by three safety bars positioned directly beneath its runners. In this configuration, its maximum evenly distributed load is 2,000 lb.
This is the maximum load when the pallet rests on a flat surface and its base is fully supported.
This is the maximum load when the pallet is lifted or moved with a forklift or pallet jack.
This is the maximum load when the pallet is placed in pallet racking and supported according to the conditions specified for the model. This capacity depends in particular on the distance between supports, installation orientation, temperature and load distribution.
These three values are not interchangeable. A pallet capable of supporting 20,000 lb when fully supported on the floor cannot necessarily support the same load when lifted on forks or supported only by the beams of a pallet rack.
Compared with wooden pallets, plastic pallets can offer several advantages in industrial operations and distribution centres:
The best model, however, depends on the actual application. A lighter, nestable pallet may be advantageous for optimizing empty returns, while a reinforced pallet will generally be more appropriate for heavy loads or repeated use in pallet racking.
No. The model's rack capacity, pallet rack dimensions, beam spacing and required supports must be verified. A pallet without a rack capacity may require safety bars or another type of support beneath its base.
The choice depends on the direction of access required in your operations. Some models are accessible from four sides, while others are accessible from only two sides. Fork dimensions and the available space between the runners must also be verified.
Only if the support conditions specified for the model are respected. The fact that a pallet is nestable does not mean that it can be supported directly by two beams without additional support.
A pallet used for floor storage is fully supported by the floor. In a rack, the pallet is generally supported only at specific points by the rack beams. This creates a different load condition and requires a capacity specifically established for this type of use.
The black models shown in this category are made from recycled plastic and are intended for industrial applications. For food processing areas or applications requiring material that complies with applicable food-contact requirements, see our FDA food-grade plastic pallets.
To learn more about base types, load capacities and material handling methods, consult our plastic pallet buying guide and our plastic pallet FAQ.
Before ordering, verify the dimensions, weight and distribution of your load, the material handling equipment being used, whether nestability is required and the pallet rack configuration.
A pallet with the right dimensions or a high floor load capacity is not necessarily suitable for your material handling system or pallet rack.
If you are unsure between several models, contact Agrico Plastics. We can help you preselect a pallet suited to your application before purchasing. Final validation of the pallet rack and allowable capacity remains the responsibility of the user and the racking system manufacturer.
