Flat hoses made of PVC for the evacuation of liquids. Water Discharge Hoses are selected according to working pressure and abrasion resistance. Where hose use will be sporadic, temporary or medium-duty

PVC layflat discharge hoses for pumps and draining

For discharging water at a pump outlet, a layflat hose offers a lightweight solution that stores compactly. Our discharge hoses are made of brick-red flexible PVC with polyester reinforcement. They roll up flat when not in use.

This range of industrial hoses is intended for discharging compatible liquids. We consider it for draining and discharge operations after assessing the liquid, temperature, pressure and connections.

When should you choose a layflat hose?

For simple discharge at a pump outlet

If the pump only needs to discharge water to a drainage point, this configuration may be suitable. The hose carries liquid on the discharge side; it does not need to provide suction at the pump inlet.

We therefore distinguish simple draining from an installation where the same hose must handle both suction and discharge. For the latter need, consider our liquid suction and discharge hoses.

To simplify storage between uses

The main advantage of this construction is flat storage. Once rolled up, the hose takes up less space than a configuration that retains its round shape.

This feature is practical for temporary installations or intermittent use. However, we select the hose based on working conditions, rather than storage space alone.

For agricultural operations and tank installations

Discharge needs can arise in agriculture or various tank applications. We check the nature of the water or liquid to be discharged and the equipment connections.

Use with fertilizer, a cleaning product or another liquid requires a compatibility assessment. The term “discharge” does not mean that every product can flow through the hose.

Hoses in this category are sold by the linear foot. If you need a configuration that already includes male and female Camlock fittings, choose an assembled discharge hose after checking the connections.

Diameters and operating conditions

Available diameters are 1-1/2", 2" and 3". Each diameter is sold by the linear foot and is also offered in 100- or 300-foot rolls.

The operating temperature range for these hoses is −15 °C to 55 °C. We assess the actual liquid temperature and operating pressure before selecting a hose.

The maximum temperature must not be interpreted as a guarantee of operation at any pressure. The hose and accessory specifications must suit the installation conditions.

Before ordering, also specify the required length and the connections at both ends. A connection of the right diameter alone does not establish compatibility of the complete assembly.

Limits to understand before choosing

For suction

A layflat discharge hose does not replace a hose designed for suction. At a pump inlet, a vacuum-rated configuration is required to prevent the hose from collapsing.

This is the distinction to make before purchasing: discharging water under pressure and drawing water in are two different conditions.

For potable water or a food liquid

For an application involving human consumption or food contact, we guide you toward potable water hoses, then assess the liquid and operating conditions.

For chemicals

We do not assume compatibility based on colour or the general material designation “PVC.” Specify the product, concentration and temperature before ordering.

Plan for appropriate accessories

Depending on your equipment, we can guide you toward hose barb adapters, Camlock fittings and hose clamps.

If the installation includes ball valves or bulkhead fittings, we also check their materials, seals and operating limits.

Frequently asked questions

Can this hose be used to drain a tank?

Yes, if the liquid, temperature, pressure and connection are suitable. For draining at a pump outlet, a layflat hose may be appropriate.

Can it be used to draw in water?

No. For suction, choose a transfer hose designed to withstand vacuum without collapsing within its intended operating conditions.

Are fittings included?

Hoses in this category are sold by the foot. For end fittings already installed, choose a configuration from the assembled discharge hose category.
