Bulkhead Fitting and Vent Installation Fees for Plastic Tanks

Would you like to order a tank and add a fitting or vent? Agrico Plastics offers a customized bulkhead fitting and vent installation service to provide the connections you need.

To ensure that each accessory is installed exactly where you want it, its location must be specified before the tank is prepared. If you are unsure about the best location, one of our advisors can guide you.

Installation fees cover labour only and are charged per fitting or vent. Accessories are sold separately. Add the applicable installation fees to your quote or online order using the corresponding button.

You can also purchase the fittings and install them yourself. The technical information required for installation is provided on each fitting's product detail page.

Important: If you request manufacturer installation of fittings or vents, you must complete the tank's technical drawing and attach it to your online order, clearly indicating the location of each accessory.

How Do I Add Installation Fees to My Order?

Installation fees are listed according to tank capacity.

For each fitting or vent to be installed, select the corresponding installation fee and use the button to add it to your quote or shopping cart.

If your tank requires several fittings or vents, include a separate installation fee for each one.

Before ordering, review the technical installation requirements on the selected fitting's product detail page.

Agrico Plastics offers polypropylene and PVC threaded bulkhead fittings in various diameters and gasket materials, as well as other tank fitting options, including stainless steel bolted fittings.

Each fitting's product detail page provides the information needed to check installation requirements:

  • Required hole diameter.
  • Minimum installation height.
  • Flat surface area required around the fitting.
  • Minimum tank diameter for installation on a curved wall.
  • Recommended minimum spacing between two fittings.

These dimensions vary depending on the fitting model and diameter.

Important for curved tank walls: If the tank is too small or its wall is too curved, some fittings cannot be installed correctly because the gasket cannot be compressed sufficiently to provide a proper seal.

Check the selected accessories and associated installation fees before confirming your order. If the requested installation is not feasible, an advisor will contact you.

How Do I Specify Fitting and Vent Locations?

Every fitting and vent must be clearly identified on the tank's technical drawing.

1. Download or Print the Technical Drawing

The technical drawing is available on the selected tank's product detail page.

Depending on the model, it may include top, front, side or end views. Some drawings also feature degree markings to help position fittings around the tank.

2. Provide the Required Information

For each fitting or vent, specify:

  • Its purpose: inlet, outlet, drain, pump connection or vent.
  • Its diameter and, if available, its product reference.
  • The wall or surface where it must be installed.
  • Two positioning references identifying its vertical and horizontal location.

For clarity, use both a top view (bird's-eye view) and a front or side view whenever possible.

Positions may be expressed in inches, degrees or clear descriptive instructions.

For example:

"Fitting centre 6" above the ground and 4" to the right of the graduated markings."

Or:

"2" outlet fitting, centre 6" above the ground, positioned at 90° on the top view."

Or:

"Vent centred on the top of the tank."

Or:

"2" drain, as low as possible on the vertical wall, aligned with the lid."

The goal is to give the manufacturer an unambiguous location while respecting the technical limitations of the tank and fittings.

3. Attach the Drawing to Your Order

When confirming your online order, use the orange "Télécharger" (Upload) button to attach your completed technical drawing.

If several fittings or vents are required, make sure each one is clearly identified on the drawing.

The same requirement applies when adding a graduated level sticker to a VFA series closed-top vertical tank or an OT series open-top vertical tank. The sticker's location must also be marked on the drawing.

Why Is Accurate Positioning Important?

Fitting location can affect piping connections, access to valves, tank drainage and the installation of nearby equipment.

For example, if you plan to install a polypropylene or PVC ball valve or use Camlock fittings for liquid transfer, allow enough room to make the connections and operate the accessories.

A vent must also be positioned according to the planned configuration.

Unclear instructions may result in an installation that does not meet your needs. It is therefore best to verify the locations before submitting your order.

You can contact an Agrico Plastics advisor to review your planned setup before sending it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do installation fees include the fittings or vents?

No. Installation fees cover labour only. Fittings and vents are charged separately.

Are installation fees charged per tank?

No. Fees apply to each fitting or vent installed. If several accessories require installation, you must add the corresponding fee for each one. The fee amount depends on tank capacity.

Do I need a technical drawing for just one fitting?

Yes. Even for a single fitting or vent, the drawing must indicate its purpose, diameter and location.

Do I need two drawings if I order two identical tanks with the same fittings?

No. One drawing is sufficient for two identical tanks with exactly the same configuration.

Clearly indicate on the drawing that both tanks must receive the same installation.

If the configurations differ, even slightly, provide a separate drawing for each configuration.

Can I specify locations in inches or degrees?

Yes. You can use measurements in inches, angles or sufficiently precise descriptive instructions to identify the requested location.

Top and side views help clarify the positioning.

Can I install the fittings myself?

Yes. You can purchase the fittings separately and install them yourself. Review the specifications and installation requirements on each fitting's product detail page before proceeding.

Where do I attach my technical drawing?

When confirming your online order, use the orange "Télécharger" (Upload) button to attach the completed drawing.
