Camlock type valves offer a quick, effective and simple solution to guarantee a perfect seal between a fixed element, such as the valve which is fixed to the tank drain, and a flexible hose. To make the connection, simply assemble the male valve adapter into the female coupler, which is installed on the hose. Locking is achieved using the two levers located on each side of the female coupler, which must be folded down simultaneously, once the male cam is inserted into the female cam. The two levers thus jam the two parts together. A safety pin can be inserted into the levers to secure them in place, preventing them from accidentally opening if there is a lot of movement around the tank. Sealing is obtained thanks to the constant and uniform pressure exerted by the male adapter on the inner seal of the female coupler. In most assemblies using Camlock connections, the male adapter is most of the time located on the fixed part and the female coupler is normally installed on the flexible hose, it is very rarely the other way around.

The 2" Camlock ball valves are like quick-connect connections and they replace collars for flexible hoses. While ensuring a watertight connection, they are a
simple, quick and efficient way to connect and disconnect flexible hoses from a fixed installation.

The connection is made by inserting the male Camlock adapter into the female Camlock coupler.
Coupling is possible only if, before insertion, the two clamping levers of the female part are open, and, after insertion, the two clamping levers are closed simultaneously.
It is possible to secure the clamping levers in place using pins if the pressure in the hose is very high or if there is a lot of back and forth movement near the hoses, to prevent the clamp levers are opened by accident and the Camlock is disconnected.
Sealing is achieved by the permanent and uniform pressure exerted by the adapter on the coupler seal.

Type of camlock :

Camlock adapters are also named types A, B, C, D, E and F depending on the type of connection they have.

Type A Camlock Adapter: Male camlock adapter with a female NPT threaded end.
Type B Camlock Adapter: Female camlock coupler with a male NPT threaded end.
Type C Camlock Adapter: Female camlock coupler with a barb tip (hose).
Type D Camlock Adapter: Female camlock coupler with a female NPT threaded end.
Type E Camlock Adapter: Male camlock adapter with a barb tip (hose).
Type F Camlock Adapter: Male camlock adapter with a male NPT threaded end.
DC Type Camlock Adapter: Female camlock coupler with a plug tip.
Type DP Camlock Adapter: Male camlock adapter with a plug end.
